P/T GROUP FACILITATOR
for Santa Barbara, Lompoc and Santa Maria
AMS is seeking contractor / group facilitator/ counselor to provide IN-PERSON 2-hour Men group for 26 week Domestic Violence offender program in downtown SANTA BARBARA, CA (in Workzones, Paseo Nuevo). You will be working from the S.T.O.P 26 week curriculum designed for DV Offenders. Rate DOE.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate weekly 2-hour groups in Santa Barbara once evening per week (sign in roster, take payment, receipts, share material copies etc)
-Training will be provided for three months
- Must have a laptop to show videos weekly. Have own transportation with insurance
- Collaborate with program director, be open to feedback and training
- Note taking. Progress notes for quarterly court reports
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to guidelines of SB County Probation and ethical/legal guidelines of counseling.
- Professional Liability Insurance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's degree in Counseling, or MFT's with Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Any professional experience in mental health. Interns welcome.
- Experience leading groups is a must, at least one year.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build rapport with diverse male clients
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be tech-able (text, email, computer, navigate clouds etc)
- Have compassion yet have the ability to set firm boundaries and give directives
- Have Domestic Violence or Sexual Assault training or be willing to aquire training.
- Have a healthy/stable lifestyle, no drug/alcohol, a support system, ideally have gone through counseling or have access to a supervisor support- All are strongly advised.

You will be required to have these two trainings completed within the year.

- S.T.O.P Curriculum: Treating Domestic Violence in the 21st Century Virtual live SIGN UP
Thurs-Fri Jun 20-21, 2024 and Thurs-Fri Jun 27-28, 2024 (must attend all)
You will shadow seasoned facilitators for three months to acquire 100 training hours in groups.
MUST HAVE:
- M.A minimum in PSY or Social Work or Addiction counseling certificate. You will be required to show your degree certification.
- 16 Domestic Violence related Ceus (can be acquired over the year)
- Professional Liability Insurance (low cost quote here). You will be required to show proof of insurance.
- Own vehicle, computer/laptop.
- Group facilitation experience (1 year min)
- Be computer savvy (Excel, text, email, cloud exchange)
